For two consecutive years, she set up a studio on the site of America's premier twins festival, Twins Days in Twinsburg, Ohio, and invited participants to be costumed and photographed in black and white with her Polaroid 20 x 24 camera?ideal for capturing fine detail even in a full-body image. The resulting body of work is a collection of variously beautiful and unsettling images, revealing nuances in the relationships of the twins she observed, from Roy and Troy Tesmer and their twin wives Amanda and Rhianna 'who all live and raise children together and have all been known to chase around in hour-long sock-ball fights to blow off steam' to Walter and David Oliver, seen on the cover, both of whom never appealed to women and gave up dating back in 1960.
